A silver-plated tureen of exceptional weight, with acanthus moulding, scrolled handles, and engraved to the lid and side with coat of arms which may be that of the Grenfell family. No maker's marks. About 40cm x 25cm, height 26cm. The tureen weighs nearly 3kg. (The lid might be a replacement, although engraved with the same coat of arms the one of the silver-plating, and the style of the moulding, is different from the body of the tureen)
