The Triumph Stag offers Michelotti design, V8 power, 2 + 2 accommodation and open air motoring. The gem that was the Triumph Stag was born in dark times for the British Motor Industry and, despite the aforementioned attributes, rather than becoming the world beater it deserved to be, it became a missed opportunity.

Despite this inauspicious start in life, those of us who knew could see what a fabulous motor car the Stag really was. There have, over the past 4 decades, been enough like-minded people to keep the Stag alive and fully realise its potential. Modern oils, corrosion inhibitors and antifreezes have, along with the skills of many specialists, enabled the Stag to blossom into a highly usable and reliable classic with values ever rising.

The Stag offered here has had only two owners in the last 31 years, and has been owned by the vendor since June 2002. At that time the car was professionally restored, engine and transmission out, body repaired and fully re sprayed. The engine was also rebuilt and a new hood fitted. In 2006 a reconditioned gearbox was fitted along with a new radiator. In 2007 a new higher ratio diff was fitted and speedo recalibrated to offer better cruising ability. In 2008 a new distributor drive and electronic ignition was fitted and in 2009 the cylinder head gaskets were replaced and carburettors rebuilt. 2012 saw new discs, pads and tracking done and in early 2014 brake master cylinder replaced and drivers side rear wheel arch repaired and re sprayed. The car also benefits from the fitting of a header tank. The vendor has bills to verify all the above.

The car is currently described is in generally good condition overall. It is said to run well and has been used regularly, providing reliable classic motoring. A very usable example of the Stag, which offers good value and the opportunity to use and improve.
