From July 1980, the XJ-S became the XJS-HE and was fitted with the new High-Efficiency engine for much better economy which included the Fire Ball combustion chamber designed by Swiss Engineer Michael May. As a by-product the power was increased to 295 hp. At the same time, the XJS-HE received changes to its exterior and interior, body coloured boot plinth in place of the standard previous black one, new five-spoke (Starfish) alloy wheels, chrome inserts on the upper part of the bumpers, Burled Elm wood inserts on the dashboard and door cappings. In 1982, the new V12 XJS-HE was placed first and second at the RAC Tourist Trophy race at Silverstone.

The vendor states that this vehicle comes with a Service Book which has 5 Main Dealer Stamps in it. The last service was at 65,369 miles, on 13/12/93, and was performed by Jaguar Mead of Burnham Slough. The car currently shows a mileage of 79,300, therefore only covering barely 14,000 miles in 22 years.

The present owner has only used the car in summer and it has been dry stored in winter. All MoT certificates are present to warrant the mileage and there is a file of maintenance bills, together with all the tax discs for the car. The car has just been issued a new MoT, which showed no advisories.

The car is said to drive very well and is very well presented.
