A Gentleman's Five Speed Fast Road 'E' Type, originally sold to the USA in 1964 through a New York dealer to a lady in California, who then sold the car to a Mr. Edwin Pyle of Brentwood Tennessee. The car was brought back to the UK and re-registered in 1990 and issued with its ‘B’ plate. It had 69,396 miles on the clock, which is believed by the vendor to be the original mileage, with no accident damage. The car was originally painted canary yellow.

The current owner purchased the car in December 2012 from a Mr Raymond Zgraga in Marbella, Spain in good roadworthy condition. It met all the criterior of being an unmolested, low mileage car to be rebuilt into his ideal ‘Fast Road' E-Type. He had already rebuilt three previous E-Types out in Spain, with the built specification for this car being:

• Strip down to last nut and bolt.
• Repaint in Bentley opalescence grey
• Complete engine rebuild
• Kevlar hose kit
• Bore out engine and fit new HC pistons
• Set of ARP/RBR uprated head studs
• Rob Beere fast road cam shafts
• UO SU carburettor needles
• High pressure oil pump (RB)
• Oil cooler (RB)
• Open out and polish ports
• Lightened flywheel(RB)
• Competition clutch (RB)
• Skim head & fit competition valves and springs
• Spin off oil filter
• Replace all suspension rubbers with Pollybush
• High torque lightweight starter motor
• 5 speed Getag gearbox
• SS 2” competition exhaust system (Classic Fabs)
• Recondition steering rack and column
• Uprate front and rear suspension (RB torsion bars)
• Wet oil pressure gauge
• “Gaz” adjustable shock absorbers
• Coopercraft vented discs & racing aluminium callipers
• Dunlop 6 ½” wheels with Bridgestone 205/65R/15
• Altenator
• Luminition ignition system
• Lightweight starter motor
• Lucas hazard warning system
• Aluminium radiator and header tank plus electric fan
• Rob Beere adjustable reaction plate
• Totally undersealed
• Drilled, Waxoiled in all sills & structural boxing and reseal.

The rebuild took place from December 2012 to December 2014. As a result it was not until early 2015 that the car was actually on the road being cautiously run in at under 3,500 RPM until its first service on 03/03/2015 at 70,020 miles.
The car performed very well with its eager, fast road engine which was surprisingly tolerant in town driving and heavy traffic.

The car was then transported the car to the UK by AVL in August 2015 where it was MOT’d and taxed for the UK roads. To date the car has only done 71,402 miles from new and just 2,000 miles since the rebuild.
