Elson Aaron Kambalu is widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in the
artistic landscape in Malawi. He is a visual artist and filmmaker, splitting his time
between Cape Town, South Africa, and Lilongwe, Malawi. He has exhibited
extensively; his work appearing on BBC, CNN and numerous broadcasting houses
across the world. Elson is also a curator and innovative art entrepreneur. He owns
Galleria Africa and Art House Africa where he has worked with more than 200 artists,
selling art and engaging their services by linking them to clients within and outside
Malawi. He has won two Presidential Awards as Malawi’s best visual artist in
recognition of his work.
