A 19th century oak brass dial longcase clock The dial signed Henry Long, London The hood with swan-neck pediment and turned front corner pilasters, the trunk with shaped door flanked by quarter pilasters, above a plain base box (reduced) on a plinth base. The 11 inch arched brass dial with silvered chapter ring with Roman hour markers and Arabic outer minutes track, the centre etched with an armorial crest and motto 'By Hammer and Hand all Arts do Stand'. The earlier polished brass eight-day movement with four knopped pillars, striking on a bell. With two weights, pendulum and door key. 46cm wide x 23cm deep x 190cm high

The coat of arms and motto on the dial of this clock belong to the Worshipful Company of Blacksmiths.
