A late Victorian gold, sapphire and split pearl fly brooch. The cushion-shape sapphire and cultured pearl body, with rose-cut diamond eyes, to the split pearl wings and plain bar. Length 3.8cms. Weight 2.9gms.

  • Overall condition good. Some surface scratches, general slight discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Mount to the eyes is worn, may require attention.
  • Diamonds well matched.
  • Estimated total diamond weight under 0.10ct.

  • Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

  • The sapphire is a deep blue hue. Typical inclusions.
  • Cultured pearl possible replacement.
  • Split pearls well matched.
  • Cultured and split pearls with dirt near the mounts.
