A Lowestoft powder blue coffee pot and cover, circa 1765, of baluster form with scrolling handle and spout, the cover with mushroom finial, painted in underglaze blue to both sides with chinoiserie landscapes including trees and houses, with smaller panels to the cover, reserved against a powder blue ground, ummarked, 19cm high (restored) Provenance: David Waterhouse Collection. DMW no. 337. Condition:Cover with restored rim chip. Further sections of restoration to rim of pot (removed and repair of old stapled repairs), with descending hairline to the body.
