Good Chinese 19th century silver flagon, cylindrical, nicely chased and matted with a view of a sailing vessel amongst fruiting vines, scrolls, sprays and thistles, similarly decorated spout, the hinged cover with seated figure, inscribed 'Presented to Capt James B. Endicott by Russell & Co', maker Khe Cheong, Canton. 21cm.
'James Bridges Endicott 1814-1870, commander of receiving ships for Russell & Co., based at Macoa (sic)  Macau. This piece was probably a gift, c1854 when he left to join Thomas Hunt & Co'.

Apart from bent foot (easily straightened), lovely condition throughout. Has been looked after - minimal wear.
