£32
Seven late 19th century fans of large size, the first with wood monture painted gold, and silvered, the cream fabric leaf painted with a waterside encounter, four red-crested birds gazing with interest at an approaching stranger, the latter white, together with a bone fan, the leaf of machine lace; a wood fan with silk gauze leaf, painted with white flowers to complement the painted and shaped monture, attractively silvered, bearing a label attributing previous ownership to Thyra, Duchess of Cumberland; a fan of tan wood with plain beige fabric leaf, and a bone fan mounted with a pale mustard floral fabric leaf (6)
The central fold of the cream fan is splitting. The lace fan has rather crude construction with probably a replacement leaf; the silk gauze fan has some splits to some folds, and the final fan has crude repairs to both guards.
