A late Georgian gold diamond and enamel mourning brooch. Designed as a rose-cut diamond urn, set atop a blue enamel panel, with white and blue enamel and bead detail geometric surrounds, to the glazed hair panel, engraved reverse. Length 6cms. Total weight 22.8gms.

  • Overall condition good to fair. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • The piece possibly with some later alterations.
  • Three circles of white enamel deficient.
  • Glazed panel in good condition.
  • Diamonds well matched.
  • Diamonds bright.

  • Individual size and setting of rose-cut diamonds prevents accurate carat weight, colour and clarity assessment.

  • Blue and white enamel is in fairly good condition with some abrasion and minor nibbles to the surface and particularly the blue enamel borders.

  • Brooch is of elongated hexagonal outline.
