The Mk V 3.5 litre was the flagship of Jaguar Cars new range when it first appeared at the London Motor Show, alongside the also new XK120. The Mk V 3.5 litre used the 3485cc 'Standard' derived, six cylinder engine, which had already proved itself in earlier models, it provided the Mk V with good performance, despite being slightly 'long-in-the-tooth' by 1948.

The Mk V 3.5 litre came with a choice of a four door saloon or elegant drop head coupe coachwork, interestingly the drop head was available for the same price as the saloon. The styling was an intriguing blend of old and modern, its lines being traditional and yet incorporating modern features such as faired-in headlamps and fixed wings.

The Mk V 3.5 litre offered good performance and continued to sell in steady numbers until production ended in 1951.

This unique Jaguar Mk. V Drophead Coupé left the factory as a saloon in 1949. Purchased by a Mr. Anthony Tolock, who had not only been involved with Jaguar Cars and Reg Parnell Racing, but also also raced Aston Martins at Le Mans. Mr Toloch set about a complete, four year, restoration of this car, rebuilding it into this unique Three Position - Drophead Coupé. Finished in Old English White with full red leather interior, red soft top, side screens, tonneau cover and spare wheel cover.

This unique MKV car is supplied with a V5C registration document, an MoT test certificate which expires in November 2012, a photographic record of the complete restoration and a file containing old MoT test certificates and tax discs. The 3½ Jaguars of this period are becoming one the most sort after classic cars available as they have the distinct looks of the period with the mechanical reliability of later classic cars; this is a unique classic Jaguar which is ideal to use for rallies and events both in the United Kingdom, or anywhere in Europe.
