A Chinese Longquan Kiln Celadon-Glazed 'Plum Blossom' Box and Cover, Southern Song Dynasty - A round, lidded ceramic box and cover, attributed to the Southern Song Dynasty Longquan kiln. Crafted from a light-colored clay, visible as reddish-brown on the unglazed base, and covered in a pale celadon-green glaze with a smooth, glossy finish. The lid features a central, raised relief decoration depicting a gnarled branch with numerous five-petaled plum blossoms, some exhibiting gilt or lighter accents in their centers. The rim of the lid and the body of the box show subtle incised or molded linear details.
