The vendor states that this Land Rover Series 1 86" wheel base was purchased after having been dry stored for 5 years. The previous owner had purchased the car from a country estate in Berkshire where it spent most of its life being used by the Gamekeeper. After purchase by the vendor, the car received a sympathetic, professional chassis up restoration, which was completed in 2015.

The original chassis has been renovated, re-galvenised and painted. The engine has been re-built using a new block, (the original block comes with the car) and the cylinder head has had unleaded valve seats fitted. All the original ancillaries have been overhauled and re-fitted. The car still has all of its original panels, axles, gearbox, tilt frame and wheels, all which have been overhauled and re-fitted. The original and rare water/oil pressure gauge with its binnacle is still fitted, as are all the instruments. A new wiring loom has been fitted, as well as some, "new/old stock" rear, "pork pie" lights, and a discrete set of direction indicators. The suspension, brakes and transmission have all been restored to original specification. All new nuts and bolts have been fitted, with the correct thread patterns. The car has been painted in semi-matt Keswick Green, and there is a bespoke interior trim.

The ethos has been to restore the original parts, or if this is not possible, fit "new/old stock" parts. There is a complete record of the re-build, with both photographs and receipts. There is a tool kit, including the starting handle, and a number of spare parts. It is believed that the mileage is correct, and whilst the vendor would not describe the car as concours, its not very far away, and very original.
