A large Japanese bronze koro, Meiji period, of squat ovoid form with high handles, decorated in high relief with birds amongst branches, the base of the bowl with cast decoration of bamboo and prunus blossom and four character signature, the pierced cover with shi shi lion finial, raised on three high elephants mask legs and circular platform base, 25 by 53cm high.
