Kerry Johnstone is an artist based in East Devon (and a member of the Temwa
team) and is hugely inspired by the place she calls home. Trees feature a lot in her
work. “I’ve worked in Malawi and seen first-hand the devastating effects of climate
change on people already living in extreme poverty. Temwa has a great approach
that doesn’t just plant trees to sequester carbon from the atmosphere. Temwa also
places a huge emphasis on supporting sustainable – forest-friendly – livelihoods so
that families can put food on the table and send their children to school. That’s why I
support Temwa’s work in Malawi.”
