A late Victorian gold gem-set brooch. The oval garnet cabochon, with split pearl scalloped surround, seed pearl accent shell terminals and scrolling sides. Length 6.5cms. Weight 36.5gms

  • Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Glue residue visible.
  • Significant discolouration to reverse.
  • Glazed panel to reverse, with some chips.
  • Some replacement cultured and split pearls.
  • Estimated dimensions of garnet 28 by 11mms.
  • Garnet is a dark purplish-red colour.

  • Garnet in good condition.

  • Cultured and split pearls are generally a creamy white colour, with rose and greenish overtones, some slightly discoloured.
  • Cultured and split pearls in good to fair condition, some with wear and nacre damage.
  • Width 3.3cms.
