AFTER THE ORIGINAL BY HYLLUS, SON OF DIOSCURIDES, ‘DIONYSIAN BULL’, A 19TH CENTURY CARVED GLASS INTAGLIO YELLOW METAL RING (YELLOW METAL TESTED AS 14CT GOLD)
Slight domed oval glass intaglio insert (approx. 29mm x 21.5mm), depicting a Dionysian bull, his body girded with a garland of ivy, walking with head bowed. thyrsus formed ground line, set in a stepped back mount, open back with large stylised open work shoulders.
