LOT WITHDRAWN: THIS LOT WILL NOW BE OFFERED IN OUR NOVEMBER AUCTION. A 1971 Jaguar E-Type Series lll 2+2 Coupé, registration number JWE 400J, chassis number 1S50064, engine number 7S14195A, White.
The Series III was the last of the line of Jaguars illustrious E-Type family. The new car featured the silky smooth mighty V12 engine producing 272bhp, which in turn enabled the Jaguar to have a top speed in excess of 135mph, and a 0-100mph of around 16 seconds which made the V12 the fastest accelerating production E-Type. This beautifully presented E-Type has covered a believed very low 38,000 miles from new with its three keepers. This matching numbers manual example has just emerged from an extensive body and mechanical restoration after resting in a barn since 1988 (original tax disc supplied). During the restoration the Jaguar was fully stripped and a new bonnet fitted (supplied by Martin Robey with receipt on file for £7,980.40) before a full re-spray was undertaken. Further works carried out including a full brake and suspension re-build, removal of the engine, gearbox and axle (which were fully checked before being reinstalled),
re-chroming of all brightwork plus numerous components. The original black leather interior has been retained, which has a beautiful patina adding a certain authenticity. The large accompanying history file contains numerous receipts totalling tens of thousands of pounds for the restoration, the last tax disc from 1988, MOTs and correspondence. With less than 100 miles on the odometer since the completion of the restoration, this beautiful Jaguar is now ready to show. V5C, MOT to March 2020, tax exempt
