George V WWI solid ebony L-shaped walking stick with hallmarked 18kt rolled gold collar by Henry Perkins & Sons, London, c1915; metal mounted ferrule & polished pale horn handle; approx. H 91cm, collar further features ornate filigree scrollwork & escutcheon inscribed 'Presented to Mr J D Hardie by No. 4 COY (Company) 2/10th RS (Royal Scots) 1915'; believed to be gifted to the father of Private John T Hardie, killed in action on 12th July 1915, Gallipoli during 'the Charge' on the Turkish trenches at Achi Baba Nullah; his brother, Lance Corporal James Hardie, was also killed in action on 30th July 1916 during Battle of the Somme, France, Qty. 1
