The Daimler 2.5 V8 was launched late in 1962. It was essentially a re-badged Jaguar Mark 2 fitted with Daimler's 2.5-litre V8 engine and drive-train, a Daimler fluted grille and rear number plate surround, distinctive wheel trims, badges, and interior details including a split-bench front seat from the Jaguar Mark 1 and a black enamel steering wheel. Special interior and exterior colours were specified. Most cars were fitted with power-assisted steering but it was optional. Automatic transmission was standard; manual, with or without overdrive, became an option in 1967.
This car was originally registered in the U.K. as NJN 620F, but has been in Holland until very recently. A NOVA import number has been applied for and the car will be re-registered by the DVLA. The vendor says that the car is best described as a good useable classic. He has had the paintwork resprayed in parts, and some rust dealt with, so the bodywork looks smart, but the carpets need replacing, and the leather is cracked, so in all there is still work to do, but with the Coombs spats, it looks quite smart. The wheels have been refurbished, a new stainless steel exhaust has been fitted and the MOT is valid until 15 Jan 2018. No advisories. The Car needs using, and settling in after being recommissioned.
