Mitchel, John and Meagher, Thomas Francis. The Citizen, New York, January to December 1854, volume one complete with 52 weekly issues, contemporary boards. Boards worn and loose, the papers are in very good condition. John Mitchel escaped from Van Diemen's Land in 1853 and moved to New York where, in January 1854, he began publishing The Citizen.
