A George III mahogany painted dial longcase clock The dial signed John Wyatt, Altrincham The hood with swan-neck pediment, brass finials and reeded columns, the trunk with arched door above a plain base box raised on bracket feet. The 14 inch painted dial with Roman chapter, subsidiary seconds dial and calendar aperture, the spandrels painted with fruits and flowers. The polished brass four-pillar eight-day movement striking on a bell. With two weights, pendulum and door key. 58cm wide x 27cm deep x 217cm high Footnote:John Wyatt is recorded as a journeyman to Sam Collier of Eccles, Lancashire, and then working in Altrincham, Cheshire, circa 1799-1828.
