An illuminated Ruzname (almanac or calendar) scroll, copied by Sulayman known as Hikmati, originating from Ottoman Turkey and dating to the late 18th/early 19th Century. This hand-illustrated manuscript is executed on aged paper, featuring extensive Arabic calligraphy in black, red, and blue inks. The scroll incorporates numerous numerical tables and complex diagrams, including a celestial sphere with astrological or astronomical markings, a sequence depicting moon phases, and various radial charts. A notable section is clearly labeled '????? ?????' (Asma' al-Mudun - Names of Cities) with associated '?????' (Al-T?l - Longitude) and '?????' (Al-?Ar? - Latitude) values, indicating geographical or cartographic content. Decorative motifs, including arabesque patterns and stylized calligraphic elements, are present throughout the composition.
