The Fulvia, introduced at the 1963 Geneva Auto Show, was the final model designed and launched by Lancia prior to its acquisition by Fiat in 1969. The final version of the Fulvia was the Sport model, which was designed and built by Zagato for Lancia. The Fulvia engines utilise a unique narrow angle V-4 design that uses a single cylinder head that incorporates dual overhead camshafts.
The Series 1.5 transitional model came with aluminum alloy hood and doors, the more powerful 1.3 litre engine, Girling 4-wheel disc brakes and a 5-speed transmission. The Fulvia Sport coupes were popular in European endurance racing and enjoyed numerous wins on the continent. The Zagato-built Sport coupe achieved a second place finish at the 1969 12 Hours of Sebring and first in its class at the 1969 24 Hours at Daytona.
This is a very well-known car, which has had a full Peter Garrish engine rebuild with a report on the rebuild. Over the last 20 years the car has been owned by Lancia fanatics. The vehicle has had some restoration work but on the whole the car is in solid condition throughout. Most of the restoration was cosmetic due to its excellent condition. The underside is solid and the car is said to drive beautifully. New brakes and handbrake have been fitted and the calipers have been rebuilt.
Those of you that know these Fulvias will realise it is the most popular series to have, as far as Fulvia Zagatos go, as it is the 1.5 series. The car was built by Lancia before Fiat took over.
The refurbishment has been carried out by a well renowned company in Gloucestershire, ensuring a top quality finish. The paintwork is finished in a beautiful Rosso Red; one of the best colours for a Lancia. The interior is beige leather and has benefited from refurbishment of the wooden dashboard steering wheel, to its original beauty.
This is a fine example of a very rare Lancia Fulvia 1300 1.5 series with a Peter Garrish engine and beautifully restored bodywork and interior.
The side photograph is a library item but the 3/4 rear picture is of the actual car.
