WWI MARITIME INTEREST - PRESENTATION TWIN HANDLED TANKARD, silver plate twin handled tankard, commemorating the "Pollokshield Rescue", the Pollokshield was a German boat, carrying coal to the German Navy in 1914, but was captured by the British Army and used to transport ammunition, the ship was caught up in hurricane force winds and hit a reef off Bermuda. All the crew, apart from the Captain were saved. The twin handled tankard commemorates this event, also sold with 2 plated trays, ship plates, etc
