An early 20th century 18ct gold and platinum, opal and diamond ring. The oval opal cabochon, with circular-cut diamond stylised foliate sides. Estimated dimensions of opal 12.8 by 10.3 by 3.6mms. Ring size M. Weight 3.2gms.

  • Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Pitting just past both shoulders, band resized/replaced.
  • Possible replacement diamonds.
  • Diamonds relatively bright and well matched.
  • Estimated total diamond weight under 0.10ct.

  • Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

  • Varied, minor to moderate inclusions. One diamond with nick.
  • Opal displays very good play of colour across a range of hues.
  • Opal surface significantly abraded.
  • Stamped 18ct plat.
