The Mk 2 Jaguar, introduced in 1959, was a fast and capable saloon. It came with a 2.4, 3.4 or 3.8 litre XK engine. The 3.4 Litre and 3.8 Litre cars were fitted with twin SU HD6 carburettors and the 2.4 Litre with twin Solex carburettors. Compared to the Mark 1, the appearance of the car was transformed by an increase of 18% in cabin glass area. The car was re-engineered above the waistline, slender front pillars allowed a wider windscreen and the rear window almost wrapped around to the enlarged side windows. The radiator grille was amended and larger side, tail and fog lamps repositioned. Inside a new heating system was fitted with ducted air to the rear compartment. There was an improved instrument layout that became standard for all Jaguar cars until the XJ Series II. From its introduction the Jaguar MkII developed a strong following in many walks of life. With wonderful styling and a race-bred engine and four-wheel disc brakes, the ability to carry five passengers at great speed, the car proved to be a great success.

Jaguar MK2 3.4 Manual with Overdrive. A matching numbers car with a Jaguar Heritage Certificate which has undergone an expensive full restoration to a very high standard over the last few years. Bare metal respray in Opalescent Gunmetal of the very solid shell which has had all traces of corrosion removed. This is complemented by a new authentic Matador Red J Skiner interior. Classical Dash restored all the woodwork and then refinished and polished it, and award winning Silver Bronze completed all the new chrome work, the car has wire wheels, stainless steel exhaust, sports spats, and uprated brakes. Apart from this the car remains very originally detailed including the correct glass, washer bottle, chrome sun visor surrounds, and a period radio with discreet MP3 connection.

The mechanicals including the original engine have been overhauled by a Jaguar Specialist. The car comes with a comprehensive history of the restoration including a large photograph album. Also included are the original spats, original brake callipers, and a full period toolkit and jack. The car comes with a lot of literature including driver’s handbook in original wallet, Jaguar period spare parts catalogue and works service manual and vintage AA and Motor road tests.
