A late 19th/early 20th century bicorn hat. With 'Milde & Son 53 Conduit St.' label. Together with another bicorn hat, a leather case, the brass button stamped with a 'P' and a coronet, a WWI Royal Artillery swagger stick, a carved wood 'Kepkypa' hunting whip with elephant and bearded male mask handle and leather thong, a 20th century black painted plaster wall mask, inscribed 'Laughing Face F. Hill 19' on remnants of paper label to verso, height 21.5cm, with a papier mache copy of the same mask, a pair of tailor's shears, and a pair of ladies' lace up boots circa 1900. Provenance: Latterly the property of Peter Hone (b.1941), the famous modern master plaster-caster, whose extraordinary London home contents were sold by Lay's in 2023. Further details here.
