JAQUES BELLOT, GENEVE. A RARE EARLY 19TH CENTURY SWISS GILT AND PATINATED BRONZE GRANDE SONNERIE TRAVELLING CLOCK WITH CENTRE SECONDS AND CALENDAR WORK the architectural case with stepped top and serpentine carrying handle above a dentil moulded cornice and outset pilasters raised on ball and leaf-cast feet; the solid rear door revealing the original setting and winding key. The matted silvered engine-turned dial with regulation arc above the Roman chapter ring and twin calendar subsidiaries for day and date with gold and blued steel hands. The chain fusee going train with verge escapement and plain brass balance wheel; the spring-driven strike train sounding the hours and the quarters on a pair of graduated bells positioned above the plates - with the original operating key fitted into the inside of the rear door.
