A late Georgian gold and ivory aide memoire, circa 1780. Of tapered rectangular outline, each side with portrait silhouette and floral mounted mother-of-pearl panel, the lid with 'souvenir' and 'd'amitie' script, opening to reveal a three-panel ivory book, pencil and pair of scissors. Length 8.8cms.

  • Overall condition fair. Surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Ivory panel with two larger cracks either side.

  • Signs of previous repair and alterations, possible later components.

  • Wear, localised loss and discolouration to the gilt finish.
