An early Victorian emerald and diamond memorial ring. The square-shape emerald, with old-cut diamond surround and tapered sides, to the textured foliate shoulders and glazed panel reverse. Emerald weight 0.24ct. Ring size O1/2. Weight 3.8gms.

  • Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • With engraving to reverse, dating 27th December, 1842.
  • Glazed reverse panel in fair condition, portion deficient.
  • Would recommend attention to all settings as some claws deficient/worn.
  • Diamonds well matched.
  • Diamonds fairly bright.

  • Individual size and setting of rose-cut diamonds prevents accurate carat weight, colour and clarity assessment.

  • Emerald is a medium green, well saturated, with fair clarity and typical inclusions, possibly surface reaching.

  • Emerald is in fair condition with some abrasion and minor nibbles to the girdle and facet edges.

  • Emerald is a later replacement.
