UNUSUALLY LARGE JAPANESE FLOOR STANDING SETO VASE. Meiji/Taisho period, the vase of very large proportions, the top section profusely painted with mythical beasts, butterflies and foliage, the lower section painted with birds around water and amongst flowering trees and plants. With a signature within a cartouche to the side of the body (possibly Yamamoto). 94cms high.

Generally in good condition, a few small areas of glaze loss inside the rim, white paint drips in a couple of places, a few marks and stains over time, a little glaze loss to the side of the base and some wear to the base.
