A late Victorian 18ct gold split pearl and diamond brooch. The vari-cut diamond quatrefoil and split pearl trefoil sides, with floral cannetille accents. Hallmarks for Birmingham, 1897. Length 4.8cms. Weight 10.6gms.

  • Overall condition good. Surface scratches/wear and discoloration in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Circular loop and pin probable replacements.
  • Diamonds fairly well matched and fairly bright.

  • Diamonds have minor, scattered inclusions, visible under 10x.
  • Estimated total diamond weight under 0.10ct.

  • Cut and setting of rose-cut diamonds prevents total carat weight, colour or clarity estimation.
  • Individual size and setting of diamond prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

  • Cultured pearls well matched, with good lustre.
  • Without the aid of laboratory equipment, it has not been possible to determine if these split pearls are from a fresh or saltwater source.
  • Split pearls untested for natural colour origin.
  • With safety chain.
