A late 19th century mahogany Carlton House desk with boxwood and ebony inlay, Merryweather & Sons, Holloway, London retailers disc to one drawer. Musical bouquet to upper galleried section, flanked by hinged covers over single drawers, the central with cupboard door balanced with 2 sets of 3 drawers. Skirted by cupboard doors and a pull out writing table. The frieze, with 5 drawers, atop square tapering legs on brass castors. The whole profusely inlaid with floral decoration. 223 x 62 x 98cm.

Brass casters intact.
All locks present (no key)
Some lifting/cracking of veneer to the tops of both front hinged lids.
Split to the wood on the desk slide out section.
Leather skiver in poor condition.
The galleried top section is not sat straight or flat to the lower section.
Some fading to the surfaces – primarily to the back.
Overall still highly polished.
