Terms and Conditions
These terms and conditions apply to all online bidding in online auction sales conducted by 2020 Auctions. By registering to participate in a 2020 Auctions sale via Online Bidding, you expressly agree to these terms and conditions.
2020 Auctions is a specialist ONLINE ONLY Auctioneer of Coins, Banknotes (Paper Money), Medals and Militaria, Stamps and Postal History. All lots listed for sale in our Online Auctions are guaranteed genuine by our specialists. All lots are scanned and images are available on the Online catalogue. Lots are available for inspection, by appointment only, prior to each sale, and general viewing may be available at the London or Midland Coin Fairs, visit www.coinfairs.co.uk for more information. It is for you to satisfy yourself as to each and every aspect of a lot prior to bidding. Email enquiries are welcomed.
Our service is available only to those who can enter into legally binding contracts under applicable law. Without limiting the foregoing, our services are not available to minors (under 18). If you are a minor, you may use our services only in conjunction with your parent or legal guardian. If you do not qualify, please do not use our services. Further, your account and user ID may not be transferred or sold to another party. If you are registering as a business entity, you represent that you have the authority to bind such entity to this Agreement.
Before you can bid in any of our auctions via Online Bidding, you must register via our website www.2020auctions.co.uk. Once you have registered with 2020 Auctions you will be able to bid online in any of our sales. You should keep your account details strictly confidential and you must not permit any third party to use or access your account on your behalf or otherwise. You will be liable for any and all bids made via your account.
Our sales are run on EasyLive (www.easylive.com) and are therefore also available on their website for Online Bidding at an additional cost of 3% of total purchase price, or a flat rate of £3 per auction. Please note these charges do not apply if bidding directly with 2020 Auctions.
All lots, EXCEPT BULLION, will incur a 17% Buyers Premium (20.4% including VAT). Bullion is at a reduced rate of only 10%, no VAT. By registering with 2020 Auctions the buyer accepts this charge on all successful purchases.
Online Bidding Process
During a Sale, you can bid for a lot by clicking the Bid button. Each bid shall be final and binding as soon as you click the Bid button.
The current bid will be displayed on your screen during the Sale. In the event of a tie between a bid placed by you online and any other identical bid(s) (including auto bids, and other online bid(s), it will be at the auctioneer's discretion as to which bid shall be accepted.
You acknowledge that you are bidding in a live auction and you agree that each bid submitted as provided in these terms and conditions is irrevocable. Bids submitted in error, if notified to us immediately, will be reviewed individually and at our discretion. You accept full liability for all bids submitted via your Online Bidding account (including the liability to pay in full and on time for any lot that is the subject of a successful bid submitted from your account).
Please note that 2020 Auctions reserves the right to reject a registration to bid online, withdraw its permission for you to use Online Bidding, or terminate an Online Bidding account, for any reason at any time prior to, during or after a Sale.
After the Sale
You will receive email notification following a sale confirming which lots you have been successful in purchasing, if any. An invoice will also be produced and sent to you in the case of a successful purchase.
You agree to pay for any lot that is the subject of a successful bid submitted by you or from your Online Bidding account, the total cost to include the buyer’s premium and any relevant shipping costs. Shipping costs will be as set out in our Shipping Policy.
Privacy and Personal Information
Our online auctions will be available to buyers worldwide. Please note however that sales will be conducted in GBP, and therefore all payments and transactions will be completed in GBP only. It is up to the buyer to determine any conversion to alternative currencies and we suggest ensuring you are familiar with these prior to bidding in a sale.
We aim not to include any lots in our auctions which will be prevented from being delivered to a country selected by the buyer to which it is to be shipped. However, any lot sold may be subject to laws on import/export and many countries require a declaration of export for property leaving the country and/or an import declaration on entry of property into the country. 2020 Auctions do not accept any liability for duties incurred by any purchases on delivery, these are solely the responsibility of the buyer. We strongly suggest ensuring you are familiar with any laws relevant to the country you are shipping to before bidding in a sale.
Limitations Of 2020 Auctions’ Liability
The Online Bidding service is used entirely at your own risk. Access to and use of Online Bidding is dependent upon, among other things, the availability of the internet and the speed and quality of internet connections. We strongly advise you ensure you are using a secure and sufficient connection before participating in an online auction. We accept no liability for any failure or delay in executing bids or any errors contained in bids placed via the online bidding service.

We may from time to time make changes to these terms and conditions. Any changes will be posted on our website at 2020auctions.co.uk and we will endeavour to notify you of the same by means of a notice and link to the revised terms and conditions on our website. Please review these terms and conditions regularly to ensure you are aware of any changes made by us. If you use Online Bidding after changes have been made and posted, you shall be deemed to have agreed to such changes. If you do not agree to such changes, you should not make any subsequent use of our website or participate in any further online auctions.
