Our usual general sale, with the following timetable:

Monday 14th, open for viewing, by appointment, from 9:00am til 4:30pm, sale starts at 5:00pm prompt.

Tuesday 15th, collection day for successful bidders, by appointment, 9:00am til 5:00pm

Conditions of Sale

1 Whilst the Proprietors of Wye Valley Auctions make every effort to ensure the accuracy of their catalogue description of any lot & any images published, it is the Bidders’ responsibility to ensure they are content with the quality, content, condition & authenticity of any lots prior to bidding. Any statements made regarding any items, either in the catalogue or orally, must be deemed as being opinion only & do not imply any warranties or representations of fact by the Proprietors of Wye Valley Auctions.

2 Viewing the sale items is available in person at our premises anytime from 9am til 530pm on the day of the sale (see below for Covid19 restrictions in place). Private viewing is available the day before the sale strictly by appointment only & subject to staff availability.

3 The Auctioneer has absolute discretion to divide any lot, combine any two or more lots or to withdraw any lot or lots from sale, to refuse bids, regulate bidding, to cancel the sale without giving any notice or reason.

4 The Auctioneer will bid on behalf of absentee bidders (COMMISSION BIDS) up to the maximum indicated by the bidder.

5 Unless previously instructed by the Vendors, the Auctioneer may sell items without reserve if they see fit.

6 The highest bidder shall be the buyer, except in the case of a dispute. If a dispute arises, it shall be settled at the Auctioneers discretion or offered for resale.

7 The Auctioneer shall regulate bidding at his own discretion.

8 Bids will ONLY be accepted from registered buyers. Bidders need only register once, retaining the same bidder number for all future sales.

9 By placing a bid, each buyer acknowledges that he has satisfied himself fully by inspection of the goods offered prior to bidding. Electrical or petrol driven items are sold on an “as seen” basis; NO WARRANTIES given or implied.

10 Each lot shall remain the Vendors risk until the fall of the hammer, where risk is transferred to the Buyer; items to remain within the saleroom until paid for in full. NO EXCEPTIONS!!

11 Legal title will not pass until lots are paid for in full. Payment can be made by Cash or BACS. We do NOT accept card payments.

12 Lots shall be paid for in full & removed from the saleroom at the Buyers risk & expense by 4pm on the day following the sale. For any lots uncollected by this time, the Buyer shall incur charges of £5 per lot per day for storage until removed.

13 Delivery of purchased lots can be arranged on the day following the sale at the buyers cost (to be agreed prior).

14 Buyers premium at the rate of 20% will be added to the hammer price of all lots purchased.

15 Each lot shall attract a minimum starting bid of no less than £5. This is at the discretion of the auctioneer.

16 If any person makes a successful bid & fails to pay for that item, then that person will be barred from future sales.

17. ONLINE BIDDING We offer an online bidding service via for bidders who cannot attend the sale.

Please note that any lots purchased via live auction service will be subject to an additional 3% commission charge + VAT at the rate imposed on the hammer price or no commission for the internet bidding if the ‘Flat Fee’ has been chosen at registration.

Covid19 Precautions

In order to comply with current Government guidelines, we have instituted the following:

A one-way system in the sale room; one door in, one door out. Hand sanitiser will be provided at both doors.

Commission bidding forms can be collected when you enter & left at the door when you exit.

Catalogues will be available when you enter, at a charge of 50p, but you are encouraged to print your own at home from our website.

We will NOT supply gloves/masks, but we DO advise you to wear your own whilst in the saleroom.

You are advised to follow the 2m rule whilst viewing the auction & no more than 10 people shall be allowed in the room to view at any one time.

Handling of lots should be kept to a minimum, & only if you are considering bidding on that lot.

Children & pets (except guide-dogs) are prohibited from the saleroom at all times.

No toilet or catering facilities will be available.

Any person not adhering to the guidelines will be asked to leave the premises.
Collection preferred on the day following the auction.

Local delivery is offered using our own staff & vehicles on the day following the auction at buyers cost. Please contact us for more details.

Shipping by courier may be possible on smaller, non-breakable items by prior arrangement with the saleroom & at the buyers risk & expense. Please contact the office for more info.
