Browsers and buyers are welcome at The Cotswold Auction Company's sales. Entry is free and any member of staff will be happy to help with queries.

VIEW DAY
This is the day preceding the sale - a good opportunity for you to examine the lots on offer. Detailed catalogues with estimates of value will be on sale. The catalogue can also be viewed on our website and pages printed as required.

BIDDING
You need a bidding number - see the auction office at the saleroom. You will be given a card and the easiest way to make a bid is by waving this bidding number. If you are a novice bidder do not worry - the blink of an eye will not be taken as a bid! The auctioneer will always establish whether a bid is genuine before accepting it.

BUYING ONLINE
An exciting new development in buying at auction was launched by The Cotswold Auction Company in October 2007, with the introduction of live online bidding. This enables you to 'bid there without being there' and brings the auction right into your office, sitting room or even kitchen ! Once you have registered online you can hear the auction as it occurs, view photographs of the lots and simply click to bid - all for an additional charge of 3% (of the hammer price)+ vat. Log on to www.easyliveauction.com to bid live on any of our sales advertised as 'LIVE'.

COMMISSION
If you are unable to attend the sale you can leave a commission bid with the auctioneer who will bid on your behalf as if you were present in the room. Don't forget that there is a buyers premium of 17.5% (+VAT) on the hammer price (the price at which the lot is knocked down).

PAYMENT & COLLECTION
Payment must be made before lots are removed on the day of sale by cash, debit or credit card (2.53% charge on credit cards. With regard to payment via online bidding with www.easyliveauction.com , please note that if payment is not received within 24 hours of the sale the Auctioneer reserves the right to take payment from the card registered with www.easyliveauction.com - this will be after the buyer has been has been notified by phone, post and/or email and has failed to contact us. Overseas bidders need to provide card details and security numbers before their bid can be accepted and the same conditions apply regarding payment. Please note we only accept credit and debit cards - we do not accept cheques.

Transport,Packing and Posting: We can arrange the transport or storage of furniture and other large items with local removers.

We do not pack or post items. The following companies do.

Items must be collected within seven days of the sale unless a different arrangement is made with the auctioneers.

Selling
We can sell single items, collections or whole house contents. Our valuers offer a complete professional auction service from your initial enquiry - including a home visit if required, giving estimates on value, arranging transport, advertising, photography - right through to a cheque arriving in the post approximately two and a half weeks after the sale!

COLLECTION OF GOODS
If you would like to deliver your goods to the salerooms or office, please contact us to book a time.

If you would like us to arrange collection and delivery on your behalf we use local experienced removers and the cost is deducted from the proceeds of the sale. We can even arrange a complete clearance of your property leaving it ready for sale.

DUE DILIGENCE

SELLERS CHARGES
VENDORS COMMISSION AND INSURANCE

15% commission plus 1.5% loss and damage waiver, plus Lotting fee of £4.00 per lot.

All the above charges are subject to V. A. T. at the current rate.
Please note: There is a minimum charge of £6 ( plus VAT)per lot, whether a lot sells or not

ENTRY FORMS
These can be obtained from the auctioneers. Please complete and return the top copy well in advance of the auction, so that maximum publicity can be given to your goods.

PHOTOGRAPHY, ADVERTISING, PRESS RELEASES, SPECIALIST MAILING OF BUYERS
These are undertaken on your behalf to acheive the maximum possible price for your goods. There is no extra charge (except in special circumstances and by agreement with you). Online photography is charged at £5.00 per lot

SALES ON YOUR PREMISES
In some cases it can be very beneficial to hold an auction at the house, as sales in situ excite a great deal of interest.

RESERVES
A reserve is a figure below which your item will not be sold, many lots are sold without reserve and the auctioneer can advise you.
