Our auctions are timed auctions with bidding via the internet only.
If you require further info on an item please email us or submit a condition report request.
If you would like to collect your items please email us to arrange a collection date and time within the timeframes shown below. So we can prepare your items ready for collection.

Collection times are Monday 9am - 3pm, Tuesday 9am - 3pm or Wednesday 9am - 2pm following the auction on Sunday. We do not offer to store items for customers past the final collection date. We urge customers to make arrangements to collect items as quickly as possible. Our phone lines are only answered within the stated collection times. Emails are monitored regularly and is the best way to contact us to get a speedy reply outside the times shown above.

Most small items won from this auction can be posted to buyers. Below is a price guide for posting & packing. Larger items are for collection only (furniture, box lots, etc) these lots will be marked in the description as "collection only for this item".

Payments we accept are bank transfer, debit cards or credit cards (credit cards are limited to £250). If you are paying by debit/credit card then this can be completed over the phone or in person at the auction house.
We do not accept paypal. We do not accept cheques.
We prefer payment via bank transfer please, details are on the invoice you will receive once the auction has ended. It will be a pdf attachment or in the form of a link on the email notification you receive once the auction has ended. If you do not receive the invoice within several hours of the auction ending, then please check your spam email folder. (Occasionally this occurs if a buyer has a hotmail email account).

If a customer fails to pay, then the items will either be re-offered in a future auction or disposed of at the auctioneers discretion and the bidder will be suspended from future auctions. It is the buyers responsibility to communicate with the auction house in relation to any purchases before the final payment deadline has passed.

We do not offer to store items for customers past the final collection date shown above.

By registering to bid at our auctions you are agreeing to our terms and conditions. By bidding on and winning an item forms a binding contract. Bids cannot be cancelled/adjusted by the auction house once placed on an item.

International buyers can only register by an approved authorisation providing they can either collect or shipping of any items won is to a destination within the United Kingdom.

UK Mainland Shipping Charges:

Royal Mail large letter 2nd class signed for delivery up to 750 grams is £6.00. (per package).

Royal Mail small parcel 2nd class signed for delivery up to 2kgs is £8.50. (per package).

Parcelforce/DPD UK Mainland parcel up to 10kgs 48 hour delivery is £13.50. (per parcel).

Parcelforce/DPD UK Mainland parcel up to 20kgs 48 hour delivery is £18.50. (per parcel).

Parcelforce/DPD N.Ireland, Isles (Isle of Man) & Highlands parcel up to 15kgs 3-5 day service is £35.00. (per parcel).

We do not offer shipping to any destination outside the United Kingdom.

Please note: We will not be able to pack a parcel with contents weighing above 20kgs. If your items combined weight is more than 20kgs total, then your items will be sent in multiple parcels and the postage charge will be calculated accordingly.

Please allow 21 days for your order to be dispatched from the date we receive your payment. We do not have a dedicated posting/packaging department. We do aim to have parcels dispatched within 7 days from date of payment.

All breakables are sent at the buyers risk, please bare this in mind when bidding as we will not be able to assist if your parcel is delivered damaged. All breakables will be bubble wrapped.

A/F = as found, which means we have noticed some damage to the item.

We are not responsible for any damages in transit, delayed parcels, lost parcels, undelivered parcels or if a parcel is returned to us for any reason by the courier - the buyer will need to arrange for the parcel to be resent at the buyers cost.

There is a 30 second gap between each lot ending. If a bid is placed within the final few minutes of an item ending, then the timer will be extended by a few minutes automatically. This is Easy Live Auctions system for timed auctions.

Each auction lot offered will be advertised with a brief description, measurements if applicable, photos of the lot, estimates and starting price.
There are NO reserves on any of the items offered. The description of any item offered for sale is at the auctioneers discretion. It is the buyers responsibility to ensure they are satisfied with the information and photos accompanying each auction lot before placing a bid.

All electrical, mechanical and battery operated items are sold as untested.
All items in the auction are sold as seen. Email us for a condition report.

If we need to cancel the transaction and refund a customer due to an item being misplaced or damaged at the auction house, this will be completed via the same payment method which we originally received the payment. We do not issue refunds by cheque or paypal. Only via the same method originally used to pay.

Refunds are not issued because a customer has changed their mind, due to damage in transit by the couriers, failed delivery attempts, returned/undelivered parcels or because the buyer believes an item has been mis-represented unless they have received a condition report and the item differs from that report. Again, if you need further information on an item, then the buyer can submit a condition report to satisfy any intention to bid. All bids are final and form a binding contract if your bid is successful.

Emails are monitored and replied to quickly at all times including out of hours.
Phone lines are only manned during the collection times as shown above. The phone lines are not manned prior to the auction or whilst the auction is in progress. We advise all customers that need to contact us to do so via email where possible.

The buyer to be the highest bidder who will pay the hammer price plus a commission.
Total commission is 20%.

In the case of a dispute the lot may be re-offered at the auctioneers discretion. The auctioneers discretion is final. The auctioneer reserves the right to cancel the sale of any lot whilst the item is still on the premises.

Each buyer/bidder is required to register with the auction house via Easy Live Auctions prior to bidding on the auction lots by providing their name, address, telephone number and email address. Also, a delivery address if required. It is the buyers responsibility to ensure the details registered are correct at all times. The auctioneers will NOT be responsible for any loss, damage or injury on the premises. There is FREE off street parking on site and again we will not be responsible for any loss, damage or injury sustained in the car park or in the auction rooms.

All descriptions, estimates, starting prices, reserves, imagery and condition reports are at the auctioneers discretion. It is the buyers responsibility to examine lots to determine condition before bidding on the item as no cancellations or refunds will be issued after the fall of the hammer. A condition report can also be requested via email.

All auction lots offered in the auctions are solely offered by The Treasure Chest (Harrogate) Ltd. We do not offer a service where we accept vendor entries into our auctions. This allows us to sell items with no reserves and low starting prices.

We also offer a house clearance service at competitive rates within the majority of North Yorkshire and parts of West Yorkshire. Please enquire at the auction house for more information.
