Due to the amount we will be posting please expect up to 2 weeks delivery. We do work very hard to make sure everything is packed well, however we cannot be held responsible for any items once packed. Also note that many couriers do not cover pottery and ceramics. We do charge VAT on our packing services.

This is a Trade Auction and buyers are not therefore covered by legislation that protects non-trade consumers.
The Consumer Rights Act does NOT apply to this auction and all lots are sold without any form of warranty or guarantee. Although we are available to provide written condition reports on all lots as required.
As there will be no viewing for auctions until government legislation permits, please ensure before bidding that you are satisfied with the condition of the lots you are bidding on.
Anyone bidding has agreed to our Terms & Conditions and when bidding has satisfied themselves to the condition of the items. Carter Auctions will not take any responsibility unless a condition report has been provided.
Vendors are responsible for wording of their lots, indicating clearly any flaws or non working items.
Vendors wishing to apply a reserve must do so at least two working days prior to the sale, lots without a reserve will be sold to the highest bidder.
By entering items in the auction, the vendor declares that they are authorised to sell the said items and the said items are unencumbered property.
Lots will be sold at the Auctioneer’s discretion.
Any lots which the Auctioneer consider unsaleable or in any way unsuitable, may be returned to the Vendor or disposed of at the Auctioneer`s discretion, for which a charge will be incurred and is payable by the Vendor.

Every person on Carter Auctions Ltd premises, at any time, shall be deemed to be there at his/her own risk. He/she shall have no claim against Carter Auctions Ltd, its employees or agents, in respect of any accident, injury, damage or loss however caused. Unless the injury damage or loss shall be caused by the direct negligence of Carter Auctions Ltd employees.
Payment for all purchased lots must be made by the Tuesday following the sale through Easy Live or by Bank Transfer. No payment can be taken at the Auction House at this time.
After this period, the Auctioneer reserves the right to cancel any sale at their sole discretion. They may re-offer lots for which payment has not been received in a future sale without reserve. In this event, the original bidder will be held liable for any shortfall between the selling price at re-offer, plus expenses, and the total amount due on their unpaid account.
Balance Due means the hammer price in respect of the lot sold, together with any premium, VAT chargeable, and additional charges and expenses, e.g. storage charges.
No guarantee or warranty is issued or given in any way, either written or verbal. Therefore refunds will not be issued on the basis of the Lot not being “in working order”, “incomplete”, or “not in original condition”.
All measurements in the Catalogue are approximate.

Picking and packing - is charged @£3, £5, £8 or £10 depending on size and items of lots won.
We use all of the main couriers and Royal Mail, we charge you what they charge us.
We do post worldwide. Please check the postage cost before bidding if you are not sure of postage prices to your country.
If a lot cannot be posted it will have been indicated in the description.
Delivery - £10 plus VAT, within a 10 mile radius of NN5 7QS.
All items can be collected as we are completely dedicated to safety and will arrange a certain time for collection. We are lucky to have the ability to bring your item to our loading bay there is no need to enter any premises. You can drive right into the loading bay so no waiting in the rain.
You are welcome to collect from us but please email to confirm a time so we are ready for you and that you have settled your invoice before arriving. It is important not to arrive without an appointment.
We do package well, and would not send anything we felt would break due to our packaging. Therefore we cannot be held responsible for any breakages. This is a definite rule and cannot be changed.
