BUYER’S CONDITION OF SALE
Notice for International Bidders: Once registered for an auction international bidders must contact The Auction Room by email at email@example.com to request authorisation to bid.
Buyer’s commission is 18% on the fall of the hammer price. We accept payment by cash or bank transfer only.
Online bids are subject to either a single flat fee per auction or a 3% internet surcharge depending which option is chosen at the point of registration for our auction.
Buyers are responsible for all goods bid on at the fall of the hammer. The Auction Room are not responsible for any wrongly placed bids
The highest bidder shall be the buyer. The auctioneer may, at his sole discretion, determine the advance of the bidding or refuse a bid. If during the auction the auctioneer considers that a dispute has arisen he has absolute discretion to settle the dispute or re-offer the lot. The auctioneers may only re-offer if a bidder contests a matter immediately, and before the offering of the next lot.
All lots must be paid for and removed (unless alternative arrangements have been agreed with The Auction Room) before 4pm on the Monday following the auction for furniture and all other lots. If you require us to package and/or arrange delivery please let us know as soon as possible but no later than 10am on the Tuesday after the auction.
If any lot is not paid for and removed the Auctioneers may remove, store and insure the lot/s at the expense of the defaulting buyer. A storage charge of £5 per lot, per day will be charged.
If after seven days from the date of the sale, the Buyer is still in default without the agreement of The Auction Room, the Auctioneers may resell the lot/s, either by public auction or private contract. The Buyer, making such default, shall be liable for any deficiency arising from such resale and for resulting expenses. Any surplus arising shall belong to the auctioneer.
The auctioneers accept no responsibility for the accuracy of any statement, whether printed in the catalogue, published on the internet or made orally, as to grading, authorship, attribution, genuineness, origin, date, age, provenance and/or condition. All such statements are statements of opinion and are not to be taken as being, or implying, warranties, guarantees or representations of fact. The Auctioneers reserve the right in forming their opinion, to consult and rely on any expert or authority considered by them to be reliable. All lots are SOLD AS SEEN, with all faults, imperfections and any errors of description.
Period electrical items are sold for their decorative value only.
There are no warranties or refunds, except in the case of none working electrical items where these have been listed as working order. These must be returned within 2 working days directly after the sale date.
Ample opportunity is given for inspection. Each purchaser, by making a bid for a lot, is deemed to have knowledge of all the Conditions of Sale and to have satisfied themselves as to the physical condition and accuracy of the description of the lot, including, but not restricted to, whether the lot is damaged or has been repaired.
We are happy to provide a limited Post and Packing service at the Auctioneer’s sole discretion to UK Destinations with a Valid Postcode. As we are restricted to what can be included in this service, it is advised that you check with the office before bidding.
All items must be paid for, before items are packed and shipping has been arranged, if you are arrange your own shipping you must contact us before hand to inform us.
We do not post glazed paintings, mirrors, extremely fragile items or large items, if you require shipping for any of these items it will be down to yourself to sort and provide the relevant information to us.
We will not take any responsibility for any damage or Loss once your purchases have been posted.
All liabilities are with the buyer.
Items weighing under 2 kgs - from £10 (sent by Royal Mail Special delivery)
Items weighing between 2 kgs and 10 kgs - from £24 (sent by Royal Mail Special delivery)
All items will require a signature on receipt.
If you would like to arrange your own collection/courier please note we are open on Monday 9:30am to 4:00pm, Tuesday 9:30am to 4:00pm, Thursday 9:30am to 4:00pm.
Please get in contact with us and inform us that you are planning to arrange collection for your items and send us your shipping labels after you have paid for your purchases.
