Conditions of Sale
All goods submitted for sale by Cameo will be accepted subject to the following stated conditions.
By offering lots for sale, vendors will be deemed to have accepted and acknowledged these conditions, unless any variation has been specifically agreed.
Vendors warrant that the items included are their unencumbered goods to which they have good title in law. It is also a condition of the Auction that the vendor indemnifies the auctioneers against any claim made in connection with any goods entered.
Commission will be charged at 18% of the hammer price and this amount will be subject to VAT.
A minimum commission charge of £1.75 per lot will be charged for lots that reach a hammer price of £10 or less.
Each lot will also be subject to a £3 charge which covers insurance, research, sorting, lotting, photography, website and internet advertising (including ‘live’ internet sales where appropriate) and all other forms of publicity. This charge is also subject to VAT.
There is no commission charge for unsold lots.
The auctioneer reserves the right to dispose of all goods deemed to be of negligible value which are not sold and which are not collected within 10 days of the auction, after receiving results.
WHERE LOTS ARE WITHDRAWN WITHOUT GIVING AT LEAST 7 DAYS NOTICE IN WRITING, THE AUCTIONEER RESERVES THE RIGHT TO CHARGE A MINIMUM OF 50% OF ANY LOW ESTIMATE WHERE THE AFORESAID LOT HAS BEEN ADVERTISED.
All goods are offered WITHOUT RESERVES unless agreed the auctioneer receives written instructions within 7 working days before the auction. The seller shall be entitled to place an agreed reserve, prior to the auction, on any lot, being the minimum hammer price at which the lot may be treated as sold.
However, the auctioneer reserves the right to sell within a bid of the agreed reserves. Where multiple lots are entered with reserves, the auctioneer has the right to consider the entries as a whole, whereby some items may sell for less than their reserves counterbalanced by others for more.
THERE IS A MINIMUM RESERVE OF £100. All lots entered with reserves cannot be changed unless the vender contacts the auction room at least 7 working days prior to the auction. Any lots deemed to be of lesser value than the minimum reserve will be sold without such reserve, or withdrawn by the vendor. The auctioneer also has the right to vet lots, which are subject to reserves and remove any which, after valuation, are deemed to be too high. The reserve will then be agreed between the auctioneer and the vendor, or removed.

If a purchaser fails to complete his/her purchase, no payment will be made to the vendor. In this event the item will be either returned to the vendor or re-offered for sale at the next auction.
