A Jaguar XJS 3.6 manual which used to be ex Formula One driver Martin Brundle’s company car in the late 80s/early 90s is up for sale this week (Good Friday) at a saleroom near Shrewsbury, Shropshire.
With just 112,000 miles (approx) on the clock and in exceptional condition, this outstanding vehicle has 1987 sports seats, lattice alloys, optional trip computer, leather trim and a colour-coded front spoiler, according to Barn Auctions auctioneer Nigel P Davis.
“There is a guide price of £8000 to £12000 on this car,” said the auctioneer, “but such is the huge amount of interest already I am confident that it will go higher. The car has an amazing provenance and a comprehensive log of just about everything that has been done to it since new.”
The Jaguar will be sold at Barn Auctions, Coedway on Good Friday this week as Lot 7. The auction will start at 6pm. Further details can be obtained from Barn Auctions on 01743 885002. Martin Brundle drove the car from new for approximately four years.
The car has a current MOT but the record of the last MOT for the Jaguar C 264 XVC will reveal that there were advisories on some welding which needed doing. All of that work has been completed. A comprehensive service folder is included with the sale and this includes the original handbook plus numerous MOT certificates and invoices for work carried out on the car. There are also some press cuttings when C 264 XVC has been featured in car magazines and some press coverage about Martin Brundle.
