A lifetime collection of over 3000 vintage Dinky, Corgi and Matchbox toys is to be sold in Northamptonshire after the death of the well-known collector, Ray George.
Mr George, from Buckingham amassed his vast collection over almost fifty years and, according to auctioneer Jonathan Humbert, the sheer size and quality of the collection is ‘breath-taking.’
‘Most of the items are boxed and as new with many rare and highly collectable items, together with collector’s sets and a large quantity of vintage dolls too. It’s taken my team almost two weeks to divide the items and catalogue and photograph the entry!’
The catalogue lists over 500 lots of Dinky, Corgi, Brtitains, Matchbox, Lesney, Mini-Moko and other makes of toys and is to be offered for sale without reserve or estimate on Thursday 7th July at 11am.
