Charterhouse Auctioneers have two special upcoming sales next month. Find out more here...
Charterhouse Auctioneers, based in Dorset, will be holding two specialist auctions next month. On February 2nd, there will be a sale dedicated to classic and vintage motorcycles. This will be followed, on February 9th, by a classic and vintage cars sale.
Amongst the lots up for sale in the classic and vintage motorbike auction is a 62-year-old BSA Goldstar from 1956. This iconic 500cc bike, which was hand build in Britain, is known for being one of the fastest bikes of its decade. The current owner of the bike has fully rebuilt it to Concours standards. As a matching numbers bike with an engine rebuilt by a recognised marque specialist, it is expected to fetch somewhere between £20,000 and £25,000 when it goes under the hammer.
The same owner has a beautiful 1973 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow up for sale in the classic and vintage cars auction on February 9th. With only 51,000 miles in its lifetime, this vehicle has had just six owners in the past 47 years and is in fantastic condition. It was originally supplied by the legendary Jack Barclay Ltd of London and is expected to fetch between £10,000 and £12,000.
If you have a classic or vintage car or motorcycle you wish to sell, the good news is that Charterhouse is accepting late entries for these auctions – you can contact them here.
Both of these auctions are being held in Shepton Mallet, at The Royal Bath and West Showground. Those wishing to view the lots in person prior to the sale can see the motorbikes on February 1st, in conjunction with the Carole Nash Classic Motorbike show, and the cars on February 8th, in conjunction with the Footman James Classic Car Show. Alternatively, you can browse the motorcycles from the comfort of your own home and register to bid online here. The catalogue for the car auction is coming soon so watch this space.
