The UK's leading pottery firm Moorcroft Pottery has ceased trading. The famous pottery firm closed its doors following the greater decline of Stroke-on-Trent's pottery sector with recent collapses of Royal Stafford, Dudson, Wade, and Johnsons Tiles. While no official reason has been given, industry experts attribute the main causing factors of the closure to soaring energy costs and a decline in sales.

Moorcroft Pottery was founded in 1897 by William Moorcroft, a talented and renowned ceramic designer. Well known for its distinctive hand-crafted and tube-lined pottery, it often features floral and Art Nouveau-inspired designs.
